{"id":71865,"date":"2021-08-16T17:47:23","date_gmt":"2021-08-16T16:47:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=71865"},"modified":"2021-08-16T17:47:23","modified_gmt":"2021-08-16T16:47:23","slug":"lalong-i-will-not-allow-religious-crisis-in-plateau","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/16\/lalong-i-will-not-allow-religious-crisis-in-plateau\/","title":{"rendered":"Lalong: I will not allow religious crisis in Plateau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong has stated that he will clamp down on any attempt to incite crisis in the state through the dissemination of false information.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that twenty-two travellers were killed on\u00a0Saturday following an attack that occurred along Rukuba road in Jos North LGA of the state.<\/p>\n<p>According to report, the attack which targeted a convoy of buses conveying some worshippers returning to Ondo after attending an Islamic programme in Bauchi, also left 14 others injured.<\/p>\n<p>Lalong while speaking on Monday after a visit to some of the victims said his government would arrest and deal with anyone spreading inciting messages on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not allow religious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/16\/buhari-speaks-on-afghanistan-crisis-reveals-the-new-frontline-of-global-militancy\/\">crisis<\/a> in the state,\u201d the governor said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople should stop the issue of sending wrong messages. Many of the issues that happened are as a result of that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI assure you that we are going after those people sending wrong messages leading to the killing of people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a clear warning to everybody who will want to use this opportunity to bring back what we have already forgotten, This is the time to deal with such people no matter their status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The governor said the visit was to monitor the level of compliance with the 24-hour curfew in the LGA.<\/p>\n<p>The special task force, operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Plateau has arrested 12 suspects over the attack.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong has stated that he will clamp down on any attempt to incite crisis in the state through the dissemination of false information.
