{"id":75152,"date":"2021-08-25T18:59:14","date_gmt":"2021-08-25T17:59:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=75152"},"modified":"2021-08-25T18:59:14","modified_gmt":"2021-08-25T17:59:14","slug":"pdp-governors-to-hold-emergency-meeting-on-thursday-over-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/25\/pdp-governors-to-hold-emergency-meeting-on-thursday-over-crisis\/","title":{"rendered":"PDP governors to hold emergency meeting on Thursday over crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have planned an emergency meeting to discuss the leadership crisis rocking the party.<\/p>\n<p>This was disclosed on Wednesday by the director-general, PDP governors forum, C.I.D Maduabum via a statement issued in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>According to Maduabum, the meeting was summoned by Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto and chairman of the PDP governors forum.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports,\u00a0the meeting is scheduled to hold at the Akwa Ibom governors\u2019 lodge in Abuja on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The crisis rocking the main <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/22\/buharis-government-using-efcc-to-bully-opposition-leaders-pdp\/\">opposition<\/a> party took a new twist on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that a high court sitting in Rivers state granted an interim order restraining Uche Secondus\u00a0from parading himself as the national chairman of the party.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, Yemi Akinwonmi, deputy national chairman (south) of the party stepped in as the\u00a0acting chairman of the party and suspended the national working committee (NWC).<\/p>\n<p>Three hours later, deputy national chairman (North), Nazif Suleiman also\u00a0announced himself as the acting chairman of the party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have planned an emergency meeting to discuss the leadership crisis rocking the party.
