{"id":77910,"date":"2021-09-02T18:07:52","date_gmt":"2021-09-02T17:07:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=77910"},"modified":"2021-09-02T18:07:52","modified_gmt":"2021-09-02T17:07:52","slug":"jamb-releases-names-of-top-10-candidates-with-highest-scores-in-2021-utme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/02\/jamb-releases-names-of-top-10-candidates-with-highest-scores-in-2021-utme\/","title":{"rendered":"JAMB Releases Names Of Top 10 Candidates With Highest Scores In 2021 UTME"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board\u00a0(JAMB) has published the names of the best ten (10) performing candidates in the 2021 edition of its\u00a0Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/20\/breaking-buhari-reappoints-oloyede-as-jamb-registrar-others\/\">JAMB registrar<\/a>, Ishaq Oloyede, gave the details during his presentation at the 2021 admission policy meeting which was held virtually on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him,\u00a0<strong>Monwuba Chibuikem<\/strong>, an indigene of Lagos state, who sat for the examination in the state, topped the chart with a score of 358 out of the possible 400 marks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qomarudeen Alabi<\/strong>\u00a0from Osun and\u00a0<strong>Adeogun Oreoluwa<\/strong>\u00a0from Ogun jointly snagged the second spot as they both scored 350.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ajayi Isaiah<\/strong>\u00a0from Lagos took the fourth position with a score of 349 while\u00a0<strong>Okarike Kenneth<\/strong>\u00a0from Rivers secured the fifth spot with 348.<\/p>\n<p>The trio of\u00a0<strong>Omonona Victor<\/strong>\u00a0(Oyo),\u00a0<strong>Owoeye Oluwatimilehin<\/strong>\u00a0(Ekiti), and\u00a0<strong>Ehizogie Aidelogie<\/strong>\u00a0(Edo) took the sixth position with 347 while\u00a0<strong>Ajeigbe Samuel<\/strong>\u00a0(Ekiti) and\u00a0<strong>Yakubu Joshua<\/strong>\u00a0(Edo) had 346 and 343 respectively to complete the top 10.<\/p>\n<p>A breakdown of the top 10 candidates by their states of origin showed Lagos, Edo and Ekiti had the highest with two students each while Osun, Oyo, Ogun and Rivers had one each.<\/p>\n<p>The gender composition of the top ten candidates also showed that the list had nine males with only one female making the cut.<\/p>\n<p>The data showed that five of the students who made the top 10 chose Covenant University as their first-choice institution of study.<\/p>\n<p>Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), University of Lagos (UNILAG), Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), and Nnamdi Azikwe University (UNIZIK), Awka had one applicant each.<\/p>\n<p>When their programmes of study were also examined, the data showed all candidates that made the top 10 applied for engineering and science courses.<\/p>\n<h4>Top Performing Candidates In 2021 JAMB UTME<\/h4>\n<figure id=\"attachment_77911\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-77911\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-77911\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/09\/samdave\/2021\/09\/02\/20210902023527_-1026201416_2655988673878600370_640_411_85_webp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/09\/samdave\/2021\/09\/02\/20210902023527_-1026201416_2655988673878600370_640_411_85_webp.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/09\/samdave\/2021\/09\/02\/20210902023527_-1026201416_2655988673878600370_640_411_85_webp-300x193.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/09\/samdave\/2021\/09\/02\/20210902023527_-1026201416_2655988673878600370_640_411_85_webp-210x136.jpg 210w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/09\/samdave\/2021\/09\/02\/20210902023527_-1026201416_2655988673878600370_640_411_85_webp-80x50.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-77911\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">JAMB Scores<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board\u00a0(JAMB) has published the names of the best ten (10) performing candidates in the 2021 edition of its\u00a0Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
