{"id":81224,"date":"2021-09-11T11:53:31","date_gmt":"2021-09-11T10:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=81224"},"modified":"2021-09-13T05:14:25","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T04:14:25","slug":"court-allows-man-to-divorce-wife-for-being-a-lesbian-and-denying-him-sex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/11\/court-allows-man-to-divorce-wife-for-being-a-lesbian-and-denying-him-sex\/","title":{"rendered":"30-year-old man divorces wife for being a lesbian and denying him sex"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A court in Kenyan has granted a 30-year-old man&#8217;s request of divorcing his wife who he accused of being a lesbian.<\/p>\n<p>The man told the court in Nakuru County that he met his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/11\/man-allegedly-breaks-wifes-ribs-while-trying-to-forcefully-circumcise-her-using-pliers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wife<\/a> on Facebook in 2015 and they married a year later before their marriage went south.<\/p>\n<p>He added that he had suffered in the hands of his wife as she was denying him his conjugal rights and has lost feelings for men, and now into women.<\/p>\n<p>In court documents, the man said that for eight months after their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/08\/forced-marriage-19-year-old-woman-allegedly-stabs-husband-to-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">marriage<\/a>, his estranged wife denied him conjugal rights. According to the court papers, the man discovered his wife\u2019s \u2018sexuality&#8217; through his sister.<\/p>\n<p>It read; \u201cThe respondent confided in my sister and my sister-in-law that she was only attracted to females. It was at this point that she disclosed she is a lesbian.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nakuru Principal Magistrate, Yvonne Khatambi who ruled on the case said that the marriage had already broken beyond reconciliation and both parties are no longer willing to proceed with the marriage.<\/p>\n<p>Khatambi said; \u201cThe parties identified as FJO and PNM had failed to reconcile despite efforts to have them revive their five-year union.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hereby dissolve the marriage between the petitioner and the respondent.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A court in Kenyan has granted a 30-year-old man&#8217;s request of divorcing his wife who he accused of being a lesbian.
