Former Governor of Jigawa, Sule Lamido has stated that Nigeria is bleeding as nowhere in the country is safe.<\/p>\n

This was stated by the chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the\u00a0weekend after a meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at the latter\u2019s residence in Abeokuta, Ogun state.<\/p>\n

In a statement released on Sunday by his spokesman, Kehinde Akinyemi, Sule Lamido\u00a0said though Nigeria is confronted with challenges, the meeting with Obasanjo<\/a> reinforced his faith in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018How do we remain safe?\u2019 is the biggest problem and challenge now in this country, because now, nobody is safe again,\u201d Lamido was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n

\u201cImagine! Kidnapping three workers of Baba, a former President of the country. Who is safe again?\u201d<\/p>\n

Lamido said\u00a0he visited Obasanjo as his \u201cfather and leader and my everything\u201d after a very long time, adding that he met the former president \u201cin very high spirits and good health\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he told me that he\u2019s now ageing and I responded that he\u2019s not, because we still need him in this country. And he said: \u2018Sule, I will do anything for Nigeria\u2019. That is very inspiring. That is why I like him and this reinforces my faith in the country, my Nigeria,\u201d the former governor said, according to the statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe discussed a number of issues, particularly on Nigeria that he so loved. Honestly, no matter how down we go, we\u2019ll rise again. But obviously, it is bleeding now. It is bleeding.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
