Nigeria’s vice president, Yemi Osinbajo has stated that the church will overcome despite the activities of the forces of ‘hate and evil’.<\/p>\n

This was stated on Sunday by the vice president at the\u00a0dedication of the new auditorium at the All Saints Anglican Church, Wuse zone 5, Abuja.<\/p>\n

In his address at the All Saints Anglican Church, the vice-president encouraged the Christian community not to relent in its efforts to bring positive transformation that will be reflected in the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe dedication of the physical building called the church must only remind us that the real work of building the church is that of bringing up men and women in the knowledge and nurture of the Lord,\u201d Osinbajo said, according to a statement by Laolu Akande, his spokesman.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe forces of evil and of hate are more vehement than ever. The battle between light and darkness is more intense than ever; but we will prevail.\u201d<\/p>\n

Osinbajo also participated in the dedication of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)<\/a>, City of David parish, Utako, Abuja, on Sunday.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, he commended Gbolade Okenla, pastor of the RCCG parish, as well as members, for their commitment towards the completion of the project.<\/p>\n

Citing a reference to David in the Bible, the vice-president prayed for God\u2019s blessings upon the members of the church.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid only thought, he did not build a church. He thought about building a church and the Lord blessed his generations forever. But you have not only thought of building a church, you have built a church. So, the wonders and miracles of God will attend to you and your families forever more in the name of the Lord Jesus,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Present at the dedication of the Anglican church auditorium were Henry Ndukuba, archbishop metropolitan and primate of all Nigeria, Anglican Communion, and Duke Akamisoko, bishop of Kubwa diocese, while Idowu Iluyomade, assistant general overseer and regional pastor from the RCCG, City of David parish, Apapa, Lagos, attended the unveiling of the RCCG building.<\/p>\n

The clerics, who prayed for Nigeria to experience lasting peace, also prayed for divine direction for political leaders.<\/p>\n

Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), and Jerry Gana, a former information minister, were in attendance at the unveiling of the Anglican church auditorium, while Philip Aduda, senator representing the federal capital territory (FCT), and Pauline Tallen, minister of women affairs, attended the RCCG event<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
