{"id":81826,"date":"2021-09-13T12:38:52","date_gmt":"2021-09-13T11:38:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=81826"},"modified":"2021-09-13T12:38:52","modified_gmt":"2021-09-13T11:38:52","slug":"petrol-tanker-explodes-in-yola-properties-worth-over-n35m-destroyed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/13\/petrol-tanker-explodes-in-yola-properties-worth-over-n35m-destroyed\/","title":{"rendered":"Petrol tanker explodes in Yola, properties worth over N35m destroyed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A tanker, laden with fuel has exploded after it fell around the popular Maidoki roundabout, near PZ industrial Layout in Yola, the Adamawa state capital.<\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/17\/two-die-14-buses-burnt-in-anambra-tanker-explosion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fuel tanker<\/a> with registration number YLA 23 XM, reportedly fell while negotiating the roundabout.<\/p>\n<p>No life was lost, but properties worth over N35m were reportedly lost while many shops and properties were engulfed in flames in the ensuing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/23\/13-vehicles-burnt-in-tanker-explosion-on-lagos-ibadan-expressway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explosion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to PUNCH, a victim of the disaster and owner of some of the properties affected by the fire, Mr. Femi Williams, said that over 20 shops were destroyed by the fire.<\/p>\n<p>He said that two of his cars and industrial equipment used for drilling were also damaged by the inferno.<\/p>\n<p>Operatives of the federal and state fire services, as well as security personnel responding to distress call were at the scene battling to put out the raging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/11\/fire-guts-fcmb-in-ilorin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fire<\/a> and maintain public order.<\/p>\n<p>The accident has disrupted vehicular movements, as motorists and traffic around the scene of the fire incident have been grounded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A tanker, laden with fuel has exploded after it fell around the popular Maidoki roundabout, near PZ industrial Layout in Yola, the Adamawa state capital.
