{"id":82501,"date":"2021-09-15T06:21:27","date_gmt":"2021-09-15T05:21:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=82501"},"modified":"2021-09-15T06:21:27","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T05:21:27","slug":"crisis-rocks-synagogue-church-as-members-reject-tb-joshuas-wife-as-successor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/15\/crisis-rocks-synagogue-church-as-members-reject-tb-joshuas-wife-as-successor\/","title":{"rendered":"Crisis rocks Synagogue Church as members reject TB Joshua\u2019s wife as successor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Evelyn, wife of late Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, has been rejected by some members as the new leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).<\/p>\n<p>WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/12\/scoan-names-tb-joshuas-wife-evelyn-as-new-leader\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCOAN, had officially announced Evelyn as the new leader of the church<\/a>, stating that the church activities would be under the guidance of God and leadership of the late TB Joshua&#8217;s wife.<\/p>\n<p>A group under the auspices of Global Congress of SCOAN Members, (GCSM), who are against Evelyn\u2019s emergence said the late TB Joshua expected his successor to be from among the Pastors in the Church whom he had anointed.<\/p>\n<p>Global Congress of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/15\/financial-misappropriation-efcc-investigates-scoan-petition-against-tb-joshuas-disciples\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SCOAN<\/a> Members (GCSM), claimed that the rule has been swept aside by a few members whom they alleged were building stumbling blocks against the progress of the Church.<\/p>\n<p>The group in a statement issued in Akure, the Ondo state capital by one Adedeji Opeyemi, President of GCSM and Secretary, Mr. Brown called on all Christians and people all over the world to help in sustaining the church from ruin.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the biggest task was to honour the last wish of Prophet TB Joshua and keep his flag flying.<\/p>\n<p>They said: \u201cWe are worried about the emergence of Mrs Evelyn Joshua, the wife of the late founder who made unilateral declaration of herself as the new leader of the Church.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe claimed a congregation of 2000 Church members appointed her. This is ridiculous: Where did the meeting hold? Was it through a Yes vote? Was it through election? Was it through \u2018anointing\u2019 by the 2000 members?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere is the resolution of the 2000 members? Can 2000 members pick a successor in a Church with millions of members all over the world in five continents? What is the constitution of the Church? Was it followed?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPastor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/11\/how-i-met-and-married-tb-joshua-wife-evelyn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TB Joshua<\/a> never ran the Church on the basis of profit. Today, there is a design by the newly self- imposed leader, Mrs Evelyn Joshua to commercialise every activity in the Church for money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMrs. Evelyn Joshua is not a Pastor. She was never anointed by Pastor Joshua. She was not part of the founding members of the Church.
