Operatives of the Benue State Police Command have arrested three suspects after five persons were reportedly killed in separate cult clashes in Gboko and Makurdi areas of the State.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that the incident in Makurdi claimed one life, while four people were reportedly killed in Gboko.<\/p>\n

According to PUNCH, a witness said some young people, suspected to be cultists, clashed<\/a> at the North Bank, a suburb of Makurdi, leading to the death of one person.<\/p>\n

In Gboko, another witness said factional cults engaged in a free-for-all at Gbar Mka in the Gbolo East Local Government Area, which threw residents into confusion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first incident happened at Gbar Mka on Tuesday night when some boys suspected to be cultists engaged one another in a serious fight and brandished various weapons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe clash made people scamper for safety and by the time the dust settled, three people were found dead,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The witness said another set of cultists<\/a> on Wednesday around 1am stormed Lorkyaa Ako Street in Gboko Central and killed a 21-year-old man.<\/p>\n

The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, DSP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the Gboko incident said three persons has been arrested.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
