{"id":86979,"date":"2021-09-27T16:12:46","date_gmt":"2021-09-27T15:12:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=86979"},"modified":"2021-09-27T16:12:46","modified_gmt":"2021-09-27T15:12:46","slug":"report-electricity-equipment-vandalism-eko-disco-tells-customers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/27\/report-electricity-equipment-vandalism-eko-disco-tells-customers\/","title":{"rendered":"Report electricity equipment vandalism, Eko Disco tells customers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has called on its customers to report the destruction of electrical installations in its franchise area.<\/p>\n<p>This call was contained in a statement released on Monday by the general manager, corporate communications at EKEDC.<\/p>\n<p>According to the distribution company,\u00a0the vandalism has resulted in regressing the growth pace of the company as well as prolonged outages.<\/p>\n<p>Idemudia added that vandalism is one of the biggest challenges facing the electricity distribution companies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/30\/nerc-to-fine-discos-over-wrongful-power-disconnections\/\">(DisCos)<\/a> which is affecting the growth of the power sector in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is really appalling that while we are working tirelessly to ensure we make the required progress in ensuring that we deliver our goal of supplying our customers with safe, reliable and uninterrupted power supply, some unscrupulous elements in the society are sabotaging those efforts by vandalising the equipment meant to serve our customers,\u201d Idemudia said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuch acts are against the progress we are making and we will go the full extent of the law to ensure the perpetrators faced the full wrath of law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appeal to our esteemed customers and the public to join us in this fight and report suspicious activities around our equipment to enable us serve them better.
