{"id":92635,"date":"2021-10-12T20:16:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T19:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=92635"},"modified":"2021-10-12T20:16:00","modified_gmt":"2021-10-12T19:16:00","slug":"man-remanded-for-beheading-his-brother-over-alleged-witchcraft-in-plateau","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/10\/12\/man-remanded-for-beheading-his-brother-over-alleged-witchcraft-in-plateau\/","title":{"rendered":"Man remanded for beheading his brother over alleged witchcraft in Plateau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>25-year-old man, Atagan Danladi, has been remanded in a Correctional Centre for the murder of his brother in Plateau State.<\/p>\n<p>Danladi allegedly beheaded his brother after accusing him of killing their father through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/21\/police-arrest-21-persons-over-alleged-witchcraft-killings-in-adamawa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">witchcraft<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Luka Pam, told the court that the defendant stabbed and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/07\/she-was-making-my-manhood-rise-spiritually-man-who-beheaded-his-aunt-in-calabar-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">beheaded<\/a> his brother.<\/p>\n<p>The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 221 of the Penal Code and is punishable with death upon conviction.<\/p>\n<p>The police charged Danladi, who resides in Bomo village in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau with culpable homicide.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Arum Ashoms of High Court in Jos, who gave the order on Tuesday, October 12, adjourned the matter until Nov. 16, for hearing.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>25-year-old man, Atagan Danladi, has been remanded in a Correctional Centre for the murder of his brother in Plateau State.
