{"id":93066,"date":"2021-10-13T20:49:15","date_gmt":"2021-10-13T19:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=93066"},"modified":"2021-10-13T20:49:15","modified_gmt":"2021-10-13T19:49:15","slug":"buhari-govt-set-aside-n600bn-loan-for-2-4m-farmers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/10\/13\/buhari-govt-set-aside-n600bn-loan-for-2-4m-farmers\/","title":{"rendered":"Buhari govt set aside N600bn loan for 2.4m farmers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said his administration has set aside N600 billion loan to support 2.4 million farmers across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Buhari said farmers can assess the loan through the Agro-Processing Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support project (APPEALS).<\/p>\n<p>He disclosed this at the opening of the National Agricultural Show\/Exhibition of the 2021 World Food Day, on Wednesday, in Abuja, NAN reports.<\/p>\n<p>Represented by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Mohammed Abubakar, the president said his government was determined to address the challenges of Nigeria\u2019s Agricultural sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe Federal Government, through the Agro-Processing Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support project (APPEALS), has set aside N600 billion as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/10\/04\/cbn-loan-to-federal-govt-rose-to-n16-1-tn-in-august-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">loan<\/a> support to farmers across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dNo fewer than 2.4 million farmers are expected to benefit from the loan which has zero interest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe gesture will support farmers in the country, to improve their productivity aimed at boosting the country\u2019s food security, improving farmers\u2019 production and increasing exports.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said his administration has set aside N600 billion loan to support 2.4 million farmers across the country.
