They do not accept that funds belonging to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/26\/fiscal-commission-frsc-failed-to-remit-n5-1bn-into-federation-account-in-four-years\/\">federation account<\/a> are deducted arbitrarily without their input,\u201d Fayemi said.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cWe are dealing with the issue. You will find the resolution to it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why they (governors) have insisted until this is clarified, we will rather leave the money in the pool until we all agree.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, last week\u2019s Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting ended in a deadlock over opposition by the governors on the commencement of deduction of $418 million from the local governments\u2019 accounts to pay private consultants for the Paris Club refund.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Consultants had claimed the amount as a percentage for the payment of services rendered to the states and local government councils.<\/p>\n<p>But the amount did not go down well with the governors who requested a forensic audit over the claim made by consultants.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi has stated that state governments will not accept arbitrary deductions of funds from the federation account.
