{"id":9963,"date":"2021-03-18T06:40:07","date_gmt":"2021-03-18T05:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=9963"},"modified":"2021-03-18T06:40:07","modified_gmt":"2021-03-18T05:40:07","slug":"police-arrest-six-suspected-cultists-over-murder-in-delta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/18\/police-arrest-six-suspected-cultists-over-murder-in-delta\/","title":{"rendered":"Police arrest six suspected cultists over murder in Delta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Six persons suspected to be members of a cult group have been arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command for\u00a0allegedly shooting and killing one Aboyowa Osawe in Sapele.<\/p>\n<p>This was contained in a statement released on Tuesday, March 16 by the police public relations officer in the state, DSP Edafe Bright.<\/p>\n<p>According to the PPRO,\u00a0at about 8pm, information got to Sapele Division that Osawe was shot dead at a beer parlour at Shell road Sapele.<\/p>\n<p>The Divisional Police officer CSP Harrison Nwabuisi quickly mobilized men to the scene, and commenced investigation immediately. With the combined effort of the police and vigilante, five suspects (1)Timothy Clark \u2018m\u2019 age 27yrs (2) Patrick Mbuk \u2018m\u2019 age 29yrs (3) Gift Omofeye \u2018m\u2019 age 26yrs (4) Ogburang Samuel Ibe \u2018m\u2019 age 31yrs and (5) Onyekachi Amadike \u2018m\u2019 age 24yrs were arrested in connection to the murder.&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<p>On interrogation, confessional statement of the suspects led to the arrest of one Andrew \u00a0AKA Pounds, a notorious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/16\/governor-sanwo-olu-signs-anti-cultism-bill-into-law-approving-21-year-jail-term-for-cultists\/\">cultist<\/a> who has been terrorizing Sapele. A yellow cult regalia, one locally made pistol and two cartridges was recovered from him.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle used in the dastardly act, one Toyota Camry Red in color with reg no AAA409 GL was also recovered from him.
