The Apex socio-cultural organisation in Igboland, Ohaneze Ndigbo, was yesterday at Awgu LG Council Secretariat while on Inauguration of the Local Government Chapter of the Organization Installed the Chairman as the Pillar and Patron of the Organisation in Awgu and Enugu State.
Before the installation and while eulogizing the LG Chairman, the State Secretary of the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Dcn. Malachi Chuma Ochie PhD, noted that it is who the cap fits that will wear it and the cap rightly fits Hon. Nwankwo.
He went further and affirmed that Ohaneze are Obedient and loyal too and Awgu Local Government Chapter will not only be Obedient but loyal to his government. He asked that Awgu LG Government Council should take Ohaneze Ndigbo Awgu Chapter as a structure of the government, that with a stronger collaboration government can achieve anything they want to Achieve. He assured him that Ohaneze Ndigbo Enugu State will give him stronger support and prayers at all times.
The Secretary Ohaneze Ndigbo Enugu Chapter, Dcn. Ochie, presented to the Awgu LG Council Chairman the newly inaugurated Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo Awgu Chapter, Pharm. Josephat Obasi “Nze Ezechinedu” who doubles as the Chairman Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter.
Dcn. Ochie reeled out the qualities of Pharm. Obasi and promised Ezeomeogo to see a renewed and revived Ohaneze Ndigbo in Awgu with a committed and energetic leader as their Chairman.
Before the official decoration of the Awgu LG Chairman with the honour of a Patron, the Enugu State Chapter President of Ohaneze, Prof. Fred Eze described the Awgu LGA Council Chairman as a true leader with many good virtues and reminded him that his contribution towards the development of Awgu LG Council and Ohaneze Ndigbo will not go without veritable recognition.
He noted that the honour are given to individuals/leaders who have made recognisable and tremendous contributions both in the development of their locality (Local Government) and in promoting Igbo culture and values. After he has conferred the award on the Chairman, he congratulated him and promised him of Ohaneze Ndigbo’s continued support and prayers.
Ezeomeogo appreciated them for the honour, promised them stronger collaboration and union and assured them that having acknowledged all he has done in Awgu LG, his achievements so far and others in progress that he will do more because to whom more is given, much is expected.
