Unknown gun men on Monday set vehicle ablaze in Anambra while enforcing sit-at-home order.
An eye witness said the incident which happened at Nise Junction, Awka, Anambra state at about 2pm leaving many people in palpable fear.
According to our source, the white Hilux jeep was heading to Nise when the unknown gun men double crossed them at the Nise junction, chased the passengers away and set the vehicle ablaze.
There was no record of casualty in the incident but our source revealed that the whereabouts of the driver was yet to be ascertained.
This is the fourth time in less than three months such attack was happening in the state this year.
Recall that on May 8, a vehicle conveying cows was also set blaze at Aguata local government area.
Also on May 22, gunmen invaded a cow market in the place.
One other person was killed in Peter Obi’s Agulu community in Anaocha Local Government Area, where a patrol van was also set ablaze.
After killing seven persons in three locations that day in Anambra, gunmen killed another four in two other locations in the state.
They attacked a police station in Anaku in Ayamelum Local Government Area and set vehicles ablaze.
The killings happened at Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area.
Moreso, on June 15, another was also set ablaze in Onitsha by unknown gun men.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra state is yet to confirm the latest but a senior police officer who pleaded anonymity said they are still investigating the incident.
