Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate has made claim that supporters of Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi are damaging his reputation.
On Wednesday 10 August, a statement signed by Director of Media and Communications, Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Mr. Bayo Onanuga was released. In the statement Tinubu reprimanded the Labour Party presidential candidate to allow the election be about issues that will bring advancement to the growth, progress and stability of the country.
He asked Obi to caution his supporters. He said:
Falsehood and disinformation will not win elections. Desist from spreading lies, malice and denigrating other candidates, especially Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Director, Bayo Onanuga added that the Tinubu Campaign Organisation (TCO) saw the need to appeal to Obi caution his supporters after investigating the origin of the fake news that claimed the Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo wrote to Tinubu, asking him to support Obi and take care of his health.
Tinubu Campaign Organisation has stated, that Nigeria will be better.The electoral process will be enriched if the 2023 presidential campaign sticks to issues of good governance.
Furthermore, he added that It will lift millions Nigerians out of poverty rather than being dominated by the ravings of guttersnipes, who do not wish the country well.
Onanuga added that the Ghanaian President, debunked the news as a product of deliberate mischief with the intent to deceive the public on his twitter account.
