Nollywood Producers Discriminate Us With Local Accent For UK-Returnees – Tracy Daniels

To know sexy actress, Tracy Daniels is not to know controversy. But most times, her utterances tend to prove otherwise. Some months back, the outspoken actress made headlines after she expressed her desire to buy ‘a sex doll’, as a special Valentine Day gift to herself.

The light-skinned diva is poised to make another headline. This time, she’s reacting to the perception of many that most actresses are wayward. In a recent chat with nollynow, the actress said there are wayward people everywhere, not only in Nollywood.

Nollywood ladies are flashy and so, people have this perception that every flashy lady sells her body for money. It happens everywhere and in every career including the banking industry, but just because we are role models, people tend to think there should be perfection in Nollywood,” she said.

Explaining why her face has been missing on the big screen in recent times, Tracy blamed the ugly development on some notable production companies, lamenting their discriminatory attitudes towards the home-based actors.

According to her, apart from the fact that good scripts have been hard to come by in recent times, most notable production companies are only featuring what she calls “UK returnee-actors” in their movies.

Stressing further, she said “ It’s so bad that the discrimination is now based on who speaks foreign accent fluently and talent is no longer the yardstick for selecting actors to feature in movies.

Most of us who are based in the country have been ‘benched’ by the giant production companies simply because they want to cast British-trained actors to shoot Nigerian version of American superhero film, ‘Black Panther,’ she bemoaned.
