“I’m The Next Governor Of Enugu State” – Kenneth Okonkwo Declares

Perhaps moved by the swelling of the political party he is part of, veteran Nollywood actor and producer, Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared himself the next governor of Enugu state.

The Living in Bondage star, also a movie producer, evangelist and lawyer, is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and made the statement on Wednesday while releasing his campaign banners ahead of the 2019 elections.

Taking to Instagram, the actor unveiled his banners along with the caption: “Without God I can do nothing but with Him I can do all things because He strengthens me.”
Okonkwo had declared that he has the backing of Sullivan Chime, former governor of the state in his bid to lead Enugu while making his ambition public in May.

Along with his latest post, he wrote:

“Join the wining team. By the grace of God, I am the next Governor of Enugu State.” Unlike many who avoid dwelling on their constituency when seeking public office, Okonkwo said he would develop Nollywood if elected.

Apart from first having to negotiate the primary election of Enugu APC before he would be eligible to contest the governorship election, Okonkwo might have to battle it out with Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain who is the incumbent governor of Enugu and who will be seeking re-election in 2019.
