8 Things not to say to a guy on a first date

If you’re like me, then you have moments where you just blurt out unfiltered comments and opinions without thinking ahead and they can come off as insensitive. First dates can really go well if the two of you click or be awry and a bit nightmarish. Still, there are some things you should never say on a first date. For instance, I have found myself talking excessively about my ex on a first date or talking about some other topics that essentially, if you do want to to see the guy again, you should keep off. Here are things you should never say to a man on a first date:

1. You look tired.

Are you trying to insinuate that he looks like ten kinds of shit? Would you like it if he said the same to you?

2. Hmm, you look nothing like your dating profile.

It can be tempting to tell someone that you expected something different based on his online dating profile but this will only ruin the moment. Keep it to yourself. You don’t have to see him again after the date if you were not impressed.

3. So, do you go on a lot of these Tinder dates? How many women have you slept with?

The real question here is, are you actually ready for the answer?

4. Are you rich?

Oh God, just don’t. You will come off as a gold digger. Instead of asking such a question, take hints from how he’s dressed and how he carries himself. A well to do sophisticated man will carry himself with class.

5. I actually don’t need a man in my life. Men are trash.

Lol, yeah, men can be trash, but, you’re there on a date. Don’t bring your bitterness with you on a date if you’re trying to get back into dating. You will chase the man away. Feminism is great and all but there are limits.

6. You remind me so much of my ex.

Listen, talking about your ex on a first date shows that you’re still emotionally attached to your previous relationship and no one wants to jump into a relationship with someone who has emotional baggage.

7. I’m I fat?

Well, if you ask this question, it’s a clear indication that you lack self confidence and men like a woman who is confident in herself and one who needs no validation from a man.

8. What are you looking for?

I get that you’d want to know if you are both on the same page. However, wait at least for the second date to ask this question. You don’t wanna seem like you’re pressuring the guy already.
