Imo APC Primaries: NWC suspend election indefinitely as faction declares Okorocha’s son-In-law winner

APC NWC has also suspended the Imo State governorship primaries indefinitely. No reason was given for the action.

The statement was signed by the party’s acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, in Abuja, on Tuesday.

The party also said it had not cleared the former Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, to contest the Party’s Jigawa South Senatorial District Primaries. It said Suleiman Abba’s name was erroneously included in the list of NWC-cleared aspirants.

Confusion in Imo State as Rochas Okorocha’s son-In-law declared winner of APC’s governorship primaries by faction group but NWC suspends the exercise indefinitely.

There’s a bit of confusion in the Imo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Uche Nwosu, an in-law to Rochas Okorocha, governor of the state, was announced as winner of the governorship primary election.

Another faction of the APC in the state also claims Senator Hope Uzodinma won the primaries with a very wide margin.

Fresh reports however say Yekini Nabena, spokesman of the APC, issued a statement to say the primary had been suspended indefinitely.
