Abia Policemen helps man to forcefully takeover house in Umuahia, 1 week after landlord’s death

A young lady living in Umuahia has accused the police of helping a man oppress her newly widowed mother and her brother shortly after the death of their father.

Chioma Onwukwe said the man named Mr Peter Uketui came to their house with policemen just one week after her father’s death to claim that the land on which they built their house belongs to him.

The lady said the man didn’t come all the while that their father was building the house and he waited till the house was complete and their father was dead before coming to throw them out.

She claims that her mother was arrested and so was her brother because they refused to give up the house without a fight.

She went on to share a video of police officers after they broke into their house. She also alleged that her mother was beaten and made to sign a document promising to vacate the house her husband built.

I’m posting this on social media to let the world know what ZONE 9 POLiCE STATION UMUAHIA and MR PETER UKETUi are doing to a fresh WIDOW.

After 2 weeks my father died, and we were mourning, Peter Uketui brought police from umuahia to Enugu to arrest my Mother over a land issue we are having.

The land we have already build a house in unknowing to us it has been already paid for by Peter uketui, during the time we were building the house he didn’t show up until we were done.

They arrested my mum on the 17th Nov, after my Father’s death on the 10th on Nov and physically abused her while in the police station. Just yesterday that came again and took my brother and locked him up in Zone 9 police station Umuahia and now they are about to charge him and send him to court for forcefully breaking into the house on September when they came and threw our properties away and locked the gate then my dad was still alive which isn’t true, my Dad broke in to the house, they are eyewitnesses.

We already reported them to human right and have sued them to court when they arrest my mum, the court date is tomorrow, they claimed not to have seen the court papers and yesterday broke out gate early in the morning which they have no right and took my brother away, they don’t want to appear in Court tomorrow and as I’m typing this they are about to send my brother to prison.
