Toyin Abraham plays church girl in new movie

Actress, Toyin Abraham, has said she still doesn’t believe that she plays a calm person in Canada-based filmmaker, Kathryn Fasega’s new movie, Two Weeks in Lagos.

The actress, who is known for her hyper active personality, noted that she considered the role a challenge. She said, “I took the job because I love the story; it is simple and nice. People will get to see another side of me. Can you just imagine me as a calm, cool Yoruba lady in a Christian movie? It was my first time working on a Christian film and it was a lovely experience. The actors have been amazing and it has been fun all the way. The director is also very calm and relates well with everybody.”

Other actors in the movie include Joke Silva, Jide Kosoko, Fathia Williams and Tina Mba.

Speaking on what influenced the film, Fasega said, “The movie is a love story and also a faith-based story. It’s a story about a young couple that go through a lot of challenges.

“On the international scene, they usually talk about my country from a negative perspective. I am doing this to change that narrative. It’s a love story with a difference because of the characters involved. The movie will be released in 2019.”
