Super Eagles Drop Three Places In Latest FIFA Ranking, Still 3rd In Africa

Nigeria’s Super Eagles slipped three places to 45th spot in the latest World Ranking released by the Federation of International Football Association on Friday.

The three-time African moved up four places in the previous (April) ranking released by FIFA.

Despite the disappointment, Gernot Rohr’s side maintained third position in Africa behind the Terangha Lions of Senegal (22) and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia (25)

During the period in review, the Super Eagles were involved in a friendly match against the Warriors of Zimbabwe as part of their preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which ended in a goalless draw at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Morocco [47], DR Congo [49], Ghana [50], Cameroon [51], Egypt [58], Burkina Faso [59] and Mali [62] make up the other top 10 teams in the continent.

The Super Eagles are currently in Ismailia, preparing for AFCON 2019 in Egypt.

The Gernot Rohr’s team will play their last pre-AFCON 2019 international friendly against Senegal on Sunday, June 16 in Ismailia.

They will kick-start their campaign against the Swallows of Burundi on Saturday, June 22 at the Alexandria Stadium.
