Hugo Wallace

Hugo Wallace, an English-Australian actor best known for playing ‘Agent Smith’ in ‘The Matrix’, was born in Ibadan, Oyo state.

According to the information on his Wikipedia page, Wallace was born on April 4, 1960, at the popular University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital. At the time of his birth, Nigeria had not yet gained independence from Great Britain, making the country a British protectorate.

Wallace’s mother, Anne (née Lennard), was a tour guide and former teacher, while his father, Wallace Weaving, was a seismologist. His family returned to the United Kingdom one year after his birth, the Wikipedia page says.

At age 13, Weaving was said to have been diagnosed with epilepsy, making him to opt against driving when he was of age. The stage and screen actor has been with his longtime girlfriend Katrina Greenwood since 1984. Together, they have two children, Harry and Holly.

Wallace is renowned for starring as the antagonist of Keanu Reeves in ‘The Matrix trilogy’ released between 1999 and 2003. Both Keanu and Wallace featured in the three movies of the franchise which grossed over $1.6bn in cinemas worldwide.

The actor also featured in blockbuster flicks such as ‘V for Vendetta’, ‘Happy Feet’, ‘Transformers’, ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and ‘Hacksaw Ridge’.

His latest role was as ‘Thaddeus Valentine’ in 2018 flick, ‘Mortal Engines’.
