Address Issues Raised By Sowore And Not Detain Him – Falz Tells Buhari (video)

Nigerian rapper, barrister, comedian and actor, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has called out President Muhammadu Buhari for being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.

The artist called the attention of the president to the increasing hunger among people, urging him to create solutions to the problems of the nation as pointed out by pro-democracy activist, Omoyele Sowore, rather than keeping him in detention.

Falz is the son of popular activist and one of Nigeria’s leading attorneys, Femi Falana. With the young artist’s interest in calling out the government’s wrongs, it is safe to say the apple has not fallen far from the tree.

He said this in a video he posted on his Instagram page on Saturday, which he tagged #BetterChallenge.

Watch the video below.

Sowore was arrested in Lagos on August 3, 2019, by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), for mobilising Nigerians to emerge on the streets and protest for a better country. Despite calls for his release, the government has kept the publisher of ‘Sahara Reporters’ in detention, breaching his fundamental human rights in the process.

Falz spoke about other pressing issues in his video, including Senator Abbo’s assault on a woman, the value of the Nigerian passport, cybercrime, among other things.
