Dog owners to stop saying “good boy” & “good girl” to your pets – Titania McGrath warns

Comedian Andrew Doyle’s Twitter alter ego Titania McGrath has warned dog owners to stop saying ‘good boy’ and ‘good girl’ to their pets.

According to the activist, dog owners saying ‘good boy’ and ‘good girl’ to the pets are normalising the myth of canine sexual dimorphism and delegitimises the lived experience of transdogs.

She wrote;

DOG OWNERS!

Stop saying “good boy” and “good girl” to your pets.

This kind of gendered language is normalising the myth of canine sexual dimorphism and delegitimises the lived experience of transdogs.

This as expected raised different reactions. See a few below.

@RabidHamster1:  I went to the dog park today and it was horrible. Gang rape everywhere. Male dogs humping everyone and everything and without consent! I called the Police to report mass rape and they actually laughed. Triggering just thinking about it Titania. Please help!

@LazyLeprechaun1 – My dog identifies as a cat

@_politicsaside – Tranimals is more all encompassing.

@OzApostate – Stop saying “good”. It’s judgmental.

@jp4rp – As soon as they inform me of their preferred pronoun, I’ll be happy to use it.

@IWolseley – What should they say? “good non-binary”?

@BCJ166- Say “good Canis lupus familiaris” or gtfo.

@wellydog67- Stop speciest profiling of canidae. The term ‘dog’ is itself gendered, and individual canids may not identify with that species. Further, I am myself a canid, and I can be god or bad, it’s my right as a dog

@GeorgeWMaga1 – It either has a penis or not!
