Ogun state police command has arrested a 43-year-old man identified as Oluwole Bamidele for allegedly defiling his neigbour’s 6-year-old daughter.
The father of the rape victim, Ikechukwu Blessing Orji who reported the case at Agbado police station faciliated the arrest of the suspect who is a resident of Agoro Area of Agbado in Ogun state.
The suspect was accused of reportedly luring the little girl into his room when the mother of the victim visited a tailor’s shop.
While reacting to the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed that the girl told her mother about the sad incident when she returned from the tailor’s shop.
Bamidele confessed to the crime after being confronted with a medical report from a General Hospital in the state which confirmed the defilement.
The suspect has been transferred to the Anti-Human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution as directed by the State’s Police Commissioner, Bashir Makama.
