Police arrest military officer with large quantity of Indian hemp [PHOTOS]

Police in Jigawa State have arrested a military personal with 169 blocks of herbs suspected to be Indian hemp. He was nabbed in Ringim Local Government Area.

State commissioner of police, CP Bala Zama Senchi disclosed this while briefing Newsmen on the command’s achievement at the police headquarters in Dutse.

He explained that Operation Puff Adder, while on patrol along Sankara to Amaguwa in Ringim arrested one Cpl. Muzambilu Abdullahi with military uniform with 169 blocks of Indian hemp.

“The suspect was arrested after their vehicle, a Toyota Camry with registration number KTU 833 DK had an accident, ” he stated.

The Police commissioner said the suspected military officer was in war against Boko Haram but absconded from service for over seven months.

Speaking with DAILY POST, the suspected military officer claimed he was invited by one Alh. Abubakar of Lokoja in Kogi State to escort him to Maigatari in Jigawa state without knowing he was carrying Indian hemp.

He said the owner of the vehicle escaped to an unknown destination after they had an accident.

He said he was on a medical leave of about one year after he suffered gunshot injury in the fight against insurgents in Maiduguri.
