Police invite two night guards over Oyo Assembly Theft

The Oyo State Police Command have invited two people for allegedly stealing electrical appliances and other gadgets at the Oyo State House of Assembly Complex.

After the invasion of the generator house of the Assembly complex which opened door for carting away of valuable items, the suspects were nabbed by the Police after investigations.

While addressing reporters, the Clerk of the House, Mrs Felicia Oyediran stated that the recurrence of the incident (invasion) made them report to the police.

Together with the Clerk, Oyediran were the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Information, Media and Public Affairs, Mr Francis Adetunji, the Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Mr Gabriel Olatundun and the Director, Administration and Supply, Mr Ojo.

The clerk revealed that two night guards have been invited for interrogation by the Police and the management of the complex still awaits the results of the police investigations on the matter before they decide what to do next.

Oyediran said the issue has not in anyway disrupted legislative duties of the lawmakers who are on recess.

While calling for a better working relationship with the media, the Clerk assured that the management will get to the root of the matter.

The clerk assured workers and visitors to the complex that additional security measures have been put in place to ensure their safety.
