Weeks after xenophobic attacks, President Buhari formally invites South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa to pay a state visit

Weeks after the news of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other foreigners in South Africa has gone viral and recieved various reactions from people, President Buhari who is currently in South Africa has formally invited his counterpart, President Cyril Ramaphosa to Nigeria for a state visit.

This invitation is purposely for the continuation of their discussion on how to end the xenophobic attacks in South Africa as well as talk on how to strength the bilateral relationships between both countries.

President Buhari disclosed this details via his Twitter handle while giving update of his activities in the country.

The tweets read thus;

Both countries firmly believe that a strong strategic relationship between Nigeria and South Africa can become the engine for the rapid economic, political, social, and cultural development of Africa, thereby delivering the Africa we want.

To this end, and to consolidate on our joint quest to deepen this strategic relationship, I have taken the opportunity to formally invite President Ramaphosa to pay a State Visit to Nigeria.
