Tragedy struck in Ondo community as an 86-year-old man identified as Umoru Samuel was reportedly pushed to his death while trying to separate his son and a neighbour during a fight.
The sad incident occurred in Okeagbe Akoko community in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ono State on Saturday, October 19th.
According to Eyewitnesses, Pa Samuel heard his son and the neighbor, Leye Rufus, fighting and made his way outside to seperate them.
Sadly, as he tried to stop the fight, Leye allegedly pushed him and he fell flat on his face. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.
The Area Commander of Ikare unit of the Ondo State Police Command, Razak Rauf confirmed the incident.
Leye has been arrested and we have started investigations, he said
