A man was caught stealing jewelry worth N1.6m in a shop on CCTV while the attendant wasn’t looking.
The woman has now shared the CCTV footage from the moment the man walked into the shop till when he stole the jewelry after she turned to attend to him.
In the video, the woman had presented several jewelries to the man to pick from, after he chose the one he liked, she turned to go to the measuring scale to weigh it and tell him the cost of the item he chose when he quickly picked one of the other jewelries being showcased.
The corporate dressed man didn’t look suspicious when he walked into the shop until after the lady noticed a “sharp movement”. She decided to be more observant of this customer.
Narrating the incident, she said after she weighed the item and came back to the area where he picked the jewelry, she had already noticed the missing piece. She tried getting the attention of her neighbour and calling over the phone but to no attempt.
She claims she had to summon courage to challenge him and ask him to drop the item. Luckily for her, he brought it out of his pocket and presented it to her before she sent him out of the shop.
She claims that the jewelry he would have walked away with if she wasn’t observant is worth N1.6m.
