Flood Kills Lady 5 Days To Her Wedding In Kaduna State

A young lady identified as Farida Saminu was on Sunday killed, after the tricycle she had boarded was affected by massive flood in Kaduna State.

According to reports, the deceased was on her way to meet the makeup artist who was supposed to be in charge of her imminent wedding. She had booked the artist for her wedding slated for Friday November 1, 2019, when the incident occurred.

She boarded a tricycle with four other passengers, but as they were climbing a bridge, the flood swept the tricycle to the edge of the bridge and she fell into the river.

Meanwhile, No fewer than 29 people have lost their lives in Kenya due to flooding as released by the Kenya’s meteorological department.

Kenya, a country located in the eastern part of Nigeria is experiencing the second of its two annual rainy seasons.

According to Kenya reports, James Muhindi of the meteorological department told dpa that the rainfall in October has been above average in most parts of Kenya.

He said that one area near the border with Ethiopia recorded more rain in the first 10 days of the month than it would usually see over the entire rainy season. He added that the rain typically comes between October and December.

Almost 12,000 people have been displaced due to flooding, which has particularly affected the north and east of Kenya, government spokesman Cyrus Oguna, said in televised remarks.
