A 30-year-old housewife identified as Mrs Janet Jegede has been arrested by Ekiti State Police Command for allegedly stabbing her 60-year-old husband to death.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the 60-year-old man identified as Mr Jedege was stabbed to death at their residential house on Alafiatayo, Zone 1, Bamgboye area of Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Residents of the community disclosed that the suspect is a professional nurse and performed the dastard act during an argument with the deceased on Sunday and there aee speculations that the suspect might be battling with a mental illness.
”We attended the same church. She had sent the two kid to church on Sunday for a special programme before the incident occurred. When we heard about the incident, the people at her house who met the policemen there said she was holding a knife and telling everybody to come in and eat, which suggested that she is psychologically disturbed” a resident said
While reacting to the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Caleb Ikechukwu, the incident is currently being investigated.
“Autopsy will be carried out after investigation.” he said
