VIDEO: Couple narrates ordeal with land grabbers, appeals to Govt for assistance

A video of a Nigerian couple narrating their ordeal in the hands of land grabbers, how they were harrassed with security men and the neglect they suffered from police officers has surfaced on social media.

The wife identified as Mrs Adeoye narrated in the viral video that she runs an event centre on 33AK Ejigbo road, Oke Afa and together with her husband, they have been operating the property for almost 12 years now before they started having issues with land grabbers.

Mrs Adeoye revealed that their troubles with the land grabbers started on 18th of April when Special Anti-Robbery men fully armed with some mufti men stormed their property at 30 Egbe road meant to be a parking space for their event centre to claim its ownership.

Inside the video, Mrs Adeoye narrated that together with her husband, they went there to approach them to understand the situation but they met one man identified as Mayaki Hamzat who told them that he led SARS officials from Abuja to the land because the owner of the land wants to take possession of its property.

Mrs Adeoye claimed that they have started using the land 10 years ago and her husband bought the land with his gratuity he recieved from Guinness company where he worked and retired from.

Adeoye further explained that the SARS officials made her husband sat on the floor, collected his phone and pulled down all trees and beautification they had done on the parking lot. The SARS officers started digging while some officers who covered their faces with scorpion mask started building on the land.

“They took my husband to an undisclosed location. I reported the issue to the Divisional Police Officer in Ejigbo Police Station but the DPO told me that it is a tough matter. I was not given any attention nor did they allow me to write statement, she lamented.

She further added that they carted her husband forcefully with tinted car that has no number.

“Someone sent me a number to call Mushin Police Station. I called him and relayed the storu to him and all what he could say to me was that it is not within his jurisdiction. I went back to Ejigbo and nothing was done until midnight when my husband called me, she said.

“They were taking him to SARS Building only to branch an uncompleted building where he met some men there and told him that they heard that they have started working on the land and they ought to take him to office but they took him to see Tajudeen Muritala, Adebusola Esther and Fatai Amodu, she added.

The husband interrupted his wife and appealed to prominent Nigerians to assist them.

“Mayaki Suleiman and Tajudeen Muritala are terrorising them with the police. Mayaki brags with the police because the former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Idris happens to be his cousin. Court has ordered that they should stop working on the land but they are still working on it.

He appealed to prominent Nigerians and top government officials to assist them.

“These people have defied court orders and they are threatening their lives.
