One week after South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi took the title of Miss Universe 2019, the 69th Miss World winner emerged and it was won by no other but Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh.

The pageant which took place on Saturday December 14, in London, brought women from around the globe who competed for the prestigious title and the famous blue crown.

Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh, dazzled the audience with her amazing voice when she sang Whitney Houston’s classic, I Have Nothing.

Singh, who is studying Women’s Studies and Psychology at Florida State University, spoke with confidence when she was asked why she should win the crown.

“I represent something special, a generation of women that are pushing forward to change the world. I wouldn’t say I’m different from any other woman on this stage but I will say that my passion for women and pouring into them and making sure that they have the same opportunities that I’ve had is something that sets me apart,” she said .

Asked about the most inspiring woman in his life, Singh said it is her mother.

“The most inspiring woman to me is my mother. If my mother and father are the roots and I am the tree, then really any work that I do and anything that I am able to change in the world is the fruits of their labor. I have watched her pour everything into me even at the sacrifice of her own wants and needs and that is why I am able to sit for you today,” she said

The beauty queen who eventually won the crown, took her final walk in a stunning silver dress after being crowned by Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce De Leon.

Second place in the competition went to France, while India took the third spot.

Brazil and Nigeria were among the top five countries.

Toni-Ann will have the opportunity to travel the world, making a difference through a number of philanthropic projects.
