OAU professor shot dead by unknown gunmen in Edo

Unknown gunmen have shot dead Professor Jerome Elusiyan, a senior lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife on Friday, December 13 in Edo state.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the deceased, who was the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, (OAUTH), Ile-Ife, was killed in Edo State.

A family source told newsmen that the deceased together with his driver were travelling between Ekpoma and Benin when he was attacked by the unknown gunmen.

It was further learnt that the unknown gunmen shot dead the varsity don during the attack while his driver sustained gunshot injuries.

While reacting to the sad incident, the Public Relations Officer of OAUTHC, Mrs. Kemi Fasoto confirmed the incident to journalists on Saturday.
