Makinde Inaugurates New Park Managers, Appoints ‘Auxiliary’ Chairman

Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde on Monday inaugurated members of the new Park Manager System (PMS).

The governor also appointed the former chairman, a suspended members of the union and ex-convict, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidl a.k.a. Auxiliary was as its manager.

The stakeholders had warned against the inauguration of the members and opposed the appointment if Auxiliary, saying that it was a threat to the peace being enjoyed presently the people of the state.

Though, the state governor had earlier denied the appointment of former union leader, warning the NURTW stakeholders against violence, adding that anybody who foment trouble should prepare for jail.

Makinde had argued that the plan was to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) as the park managers manage the affairs on motor parks in the state.

Speaking at the launch, Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Prof. Raphael Afonja, charged the managers to discharge their duties without any fear.

The chairman of the Committee is a former National Union of Road Transport (NURTW), chairman in the state, Alhaji Lamidi Mukaila Auxiliary, Alhaji Tajudeen Adu is vice President while the secretary is Omolewa Tommy.

Speaking, Auxiliary gave the commitment of increasing the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) so that the Seyi Makinde led government would be able to cater for other infrastructural developments in the state.

The ex-NURTW boss, ‘Auxiliary’ who gave this assurance on Monday, also disclosed that he deliberately sacrificed his ambition to support the government’s mission towards boosting the state’s revenue.
