Obasanjo calls for new constitution

Olusegun Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has appealed to the executive and legislative arms of government to work together towards producing a brand new constitution for Nigeria before the situation in the country gets out hand.

This appeal was made by the former President of the country while speaking at the first Dr. Frederick Fasehun Memorial Lecture in Lagos, Saturday.

Obasanjo stated that it would appear members of the National Assembly are fully aware of the lurking danger and wants to be proactive on handling it, but seem to be handicapped.

He added: “What is required is a new Constitution to meet the agitation and aspiration of all Nigerians and to allay all fears.”
