Four Chinese citizens quarantined in Plateau State have tested negative for coronavirus

Hours after four Chinese citizens were quarantined in Plateau state over possibility of being infected with Coronavirus, the Chinese nationals have tested negative to the flu-like virus.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that no fewer than three Chinese Nationals who are workers in a mining site in Wase town of Plateau State have been quarantined for suspected case of the novel coronavirus

Reacting to the development, the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire confirmed that the four suspected cases tested negative to the deadly disease at a press briefing on Monday, March 2.

He further disclosed that the state health officials took a precuationary measure of placing the Chinese citizens on supervised isolation for 14 more days.

Ehanire said;

“None of these cases have any symptoms and they have all been tested at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reference laboratory. They are all negative for coronavirus infection.

“We will continue to monitor the global situation with cases spreading quickly in countries as they are doing now.”
