A notorious sea pirate identified as Ayetiniyi Ademola has been arrested by men of the Ondo state police command on Thursday over robbery of vessel belonging to one Captain Monday Stephen.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the vessel was conveying 150tons of diesel valued at N20m.

While parading the suspect, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State disclosed that seven armed men attacked the vessel at Igbokoda area and hijacked the vessel to unknown destination.

Undie said the suspect would soon be charged to court.

Reacting to another incident, Undie disclosed that a one month old baby, Oluwadarasimi Olusanya, who was stolen by one Deborah Onuh, aged 20, has been rescued.

The Ondo CP said Deborah stole the baby at Kajola Street, Oda Road, Akure on the pretext of playing with the baby and was arrested at Okpoh in Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State.

Other suspects paraded were Omotayo Nasiru aged 30 and Eniola Adeoye aged 34 who robbed their victim the sum of N21m.

Undie said their victim, one Jedo Blessing, reported that he was going to deposit the money in a bank alongside his manager when the robbers struck between Ipira and Igbokoda.

He said six persons were arrested at Akure during initiation ceremony of Eiye confraternity.

Undie said all the suspects would be charged to court after investigations have been completed.

He said the command also recovered two vehicles, five firearms, three live cartridges and seven live ammunitions.
