As COVID-19 slowly spreads across Africa, with governments taking precautionary measures to contain its spread, Police in Rwanda reportedly kills two people who defied the lockdown orders over coronavirus in the country.
The government of Rwanda announced a two-week lockdown order on March 22, 2020 by two men who defied the order were shot dead by the Police who claim the men in their twenties “attempted to tussle with officers,” Rwanda National Police spokesman John Bosco Kabera said by phone Wednesday, Bloomberg reports.
The lockdown order restricts travel between towns and cities and for people to stay indoors.
Rwanda currently has 40 confirmed Covid-19, Coronavirus cases.
In other news, Tanzania President John Magufuli, has revealed that he won’t close religious gathering over COVID-19, despite the spread of virus across the globe.
John Magufuli, on Sunday announced that his government would not shut down churches and mosques due to coronavirus, as these are the only places where true healing can be found.
“These Holy places are where God is. My fellow Tanzanians, let us not be afraid of going to praise Him,” he said
