Two Islamic clerics arrested for conducting prayers in Kaduna during lockdown over coronavirus

Kaduna State Government have arrested two Islamic clerics in the state for conducting prayers in spite of a lockdown order by the State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Recall that the Kaduna State Government invoked the quarantine act of 1926 and the Kaduna state public health law on Thursday to impose a curfew in the state as one of the measures of curbing the spread of Coronavirus.

While reacting to the development, the Kaduna State Government confirmed the arrest of Aminu Umar Usman and Umar Shangel in a tweet on Saturday March 28.

The Government further disclosed that they will be prosecuted for disobeying the lockdown order.
