The Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo has extended the partial lockdown of certain parts of the country by another one week to avert further spread of the deadly Coronavirus in the country.

According to a statement posted on the country’s Ministry of Information’s Twitter handle, the ban on public gatherings has been extended by two weeks while restriction of movement in Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Kasoa, very popular cities in the country, has been extended by one week.

The lockdown was effected on March 30th as part of measures to curb the spread of Coronavirus. Ghana currently has 566 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, four recoveries and eight death.
