Ex-Kano Attorney-General, Aliyu Umar dies

Former Kano State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Aliyu Umar, SAN, is dead.

According to the report, Umar passed on in the early hours of Friday.

He died after a brief illness.

The deceased has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

Late Aliyu Umar was described as one of the best criminal law experts in Nigeria.

The late SAN was born on 19th June, 1952 and called to the Nigerian Bar in 1978. He was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2012.

Aliyu Umar, SAN, was a prosecuting counsel in the case of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) vs. Justice Walter Onnoghen at the Code of Conduct Tribunal,CCT.
