Jigawa government locks down Kazaure after second Coronavirus case

Hours after the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed a second Coronavirus case in the state, Jigawa state government has announced a lockdown in Kazaure local Council.

Recall that the NCDC disclosed that one case which was previously reported in Kano, was transferred to Jigawa State.

The Governor of Jigawa state, Badaru Abubakar confirmed the new case during a press briefing in Dutse.

Badaru revealed that the lockdown will be effective from Monday midnight.

Essential service providers are exempted from the lockdown and grains will be distributed to the affected local government.

Abubakar urged people of the state to be vigilant and alert in the area to avoid a spread of the virus.
