Bauchi records 11 new COVID-19 cases

Anambra discharges index case of Coronavirus

Bauchi state on Tuesday recorded 11 new confirmed cases of coronavirus.

This brings the total confirmed cases in the state to be 25.

Out of the total number, six have been discharged, 19 active cases with zero death.

With the increased number of confirmed positive cases, the Bauchi state government has called on citizens to be vigilant.

Meanwhile, Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed has signed an Executive Order 001 that imposes N5000 fine on those not observing the social distancing practice as enforced by the State Government.

Same applies to those not wearing the compulsory facemask.

Under the new order tagged ”Infectious Disease Prevention Regulation,” violators of the partial lockdown and social distancing directive will be fined by a mobile court.

Mohammed said the move is to protect residents from further exposure to COVID-19, while ensuring they comply with the partial lockdown and social distancing practice.

The governor has directed the Chief Judge of the state to with immediate effect, commence its enforcement.
