Buhari’s wife donates food items, others to Kano

The wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), medical consumables and assorted food items to Kano State on Monday.

These items were presented by the first lady to the state government through her Special Adviser (SA) on Administration, Hadi Uba.

According to the Special Adviser on Administration, the items were meant for about 500,000 households across the state to cushion the effect of the lockdown in the fight against COVID-19 spread.

Uba said 16 trailer loads of assorted food items, including rice, spaghetti, flour, cooking oil and milk would be distributed in collaboration with the state government to the needy.

He added that the PPEs included 300,000 hand gloves, 300,000 face masks as well as protective gowns.

10 pieces of automatic dispensers among other medical items were part of items presented, Uba added.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that days after report of mass deaths were recorded in Kano state, President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered total lockdown of the state for two weeks.

This new directive was disclosed by the President during a national broadcast on Monday evening.
