First female Kano Hisbah commander, Halima Shitu dies

Tragedy as the first female Hisbah Commander in Kano state identified as Halima Shittu reportedly died at the age of 55 years.

This was confirmed to newsmen by a family source.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the deceased died after a brief illness in Kano state.

It was also learnt that the deceased, Halima Shittu before her demise contributed to Islamic scholarship among women in Nigeria and Africa at large as the Chairperson of the Association of Muslim Women in Africa (AMEWA)°

According to her sister, Maimuna Shittu, she revealed that the deceased left behind a husband and six children to mourn her.

Maimuna Shitu said;

“She left behind a husband who is a prominent Islamic Scholar Sheikh Abdulwahab Abdullah and six children to mourn her. Her eldest son is Malam Abdullah Abdulwahab, a system analyst at Bayero University Kano.”
